Letter: $4600 donated for fuel assistance - Bennington Banner

To the Editor:

The Bennington and Catamount Rotary Clubs and the MAUHS Interact Club would like to thank everyone who stopped by our bell ringing program this winter in front of JC Penney. We were able to raise over $4,600 for the BROC Community Action fuel and utility assistance program. We'd especially like to thank the students from the Village School of North Bennington, who donated half the proceeds from their winter bazaar. Their generosity and community spirit is truly inspirational.

All of the funds donated to BROC are matched by Green Mountain Power, and directly benefit needy Vermonters throughout Bennington County who run low on home heating oil during the coldest months of the year.

The Rotary Clubs and the Interact Club partner on this project every winter as a part of their larger mission to provide service to others in the community. As with our Italian Night Dinner and Pancake Breakfast, our event strives to involve the whole community in giving back to those who need it the most.
