NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Multiple violent tornadoes ripped through Middle Tennessee, killing 25 and knocking down countless homes and buildings.
Those with damage in Davidson, Putnam and Wilson counties can now register for individual assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
"Local, state and federal emergency officials and responders have worked tirelessly in a coordinated manner to provide help and relief to our counties and communities," Governor Bill Lee said. "The myriad stories of Tennesseans who experienced this tragedy have been inspiring and heartbreaking, and my hope is some healing can now begin and we can be on our way to rebuilding our lives and communities."
Lee said the three counties will receive federal aid through an expedited Major Disaster Declaration. FEMA will provide both individual assistance and public assistance programs in the three counties.
Those who may be eligible for the individual assistance program can begin the application process online by clicking here.
You can also call the disaster assistance helpline at 1-800-621-3362 for help with the application process.
