Larry Kudlow Floats Idea Of "Targeted" Economic Assistance For Businesses Impacted By Coronavirus - RealClearPolitics

White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow suggested during a press availability that the federal government could provide "timely and targeted microforms of assistance" to workers and businesses impacted financially by the coronavirus, as President Trump signed an $8.3 billion spending package to deal with the spreading outbreak.

"The story I'm trying to tell is a story of timely and targeted microforms of assistance – not gargantuan, across the board, throw money at the problem, which has never worked in the past – because we think we will get out of this within months," Kudlow said.

Also on Friday in an interview with CNBC, Kudlow discussed why Americans should remain calm about the disease.

"We don’t actually know what the magnitude of the virus is going to be, although frankly so far it looks relatively contained," Kudlow said. "I don’t want to downplay anything. Worry about the effect on human beings, for heaven’s sake. But I’m just saying, let’s not overreact. In many ways, America should stay at work."
