Cenla Agency offering assistance to elderly - Knoe.com

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A nonprofit organization funded by the state and federal government is offering free health services to senior citizens and disabled individuals with their Medicare in central and northeast Louisiana.

Katie Lacaze, a counselor for Cenla Area Agency on Aging, joined Good Morning ArkLaMiss Friday morning. She talked about some of the health services they offer to people who may need their assistance.

The Cenla Area Agency on Aging is a nonprofit agency based in Alexandria, Louisiana. They serve as a free resource center for senior citizens aged 60 and over and disabled individuals aged 21 and up.

The organization currently serves 20 parishes from Allen parish to East and West Carroll parishes along with Morehouse, Richland, Ouachita, Madison, and Franklin parishes.

Lacaze says the organization offers Medicare and Medicaid counseling and assistance with applications for Medicare savings program.
