About four years ago, inspired by the challenges she was facing in her personal life, Kathleen Malone added a new service to her advisory practice. Her father, who had a four-decade career as an advisor and manager at Merrill Lynch, was struggling with dementia, and Malone was experiencing first-hand the trials of trying to help aging relatives with their finances.
It turns out many of her clients were in the same position. “I saw this recurring theme come up,” says Malone, an advisor with Wells Fargo based in Charlotte, N.C.
