Portland officials plan to roll out a seven-figure assistance program for the city’s marijuana industry, whose business owners and employees say they continue to struggle amid a surge in robberies and property damage as well from the lasting impacts of the coronavirus pandemic and last year’s devastating wildfires.
Weed workers and companies in Portland will be eligible to receive grants of up to $5,000 and $25,000, respectively, under a $1.3 million Cannabis Emergency Relief Fund approved in June as part of the city’s annual budget.
