Doucet was born Feb. 9, 2001 in Duncan, Oklahoma, to parents Krystal and Benji Doucet. His father wrestled at Missouri Valley College and said his dad's wrestling background got him introduced to the sport.
"I started wrestling when I was three years old," Doucet said. "My dad started a little league program, so I started wrestling when he started coaching."
He attended Comanche High School, where he wrestled for coach Jason Miller and amassed a record of 172-7 during his high school career.
Doucet won individual state championships during all four years of high school. In the 2020 state wrestling tournament, he pinned all of his opponents in under a minute to secure his fourth straight championship at Comanche.
That tournament run capped off a perfect 50-0 season for Doucet, earning the Dave Schultz High School excellence award for the state of Oklahoma. He also earned a second-place finish at the Super 32 tournament in 2018 and a fifth-place finish in 2017 at the same tournament.
Doucet, the No. 89 ranked pound-for-pound wrestler in the class of 2020, said he never had any doubts about where he would attend college during his commitment process.
"I had a lot of schools looking at me, but I never took any of them seriously," Doucet said. "My parents made me take some visits to other schools, but I was always counting down the days that I could finally commit here."
Doucet, who is expected to wrestle at heavyweight for the Cowboys, said he is looking forward to wrestling with some former teammates of his at OSU.
"Me, Dustin (Plott), Trevor (Mastrogiovanni) and Luke (Surber) all used to wrestle on a middle school team together, so we're all pretty good friends," Doucet said. "We kept up with each other and stayed close in high school. We even made a pact to come to the same school."
