BAYONNE, NJ - As families across Bayonne and Hudson County continue to overcome new economic challenges brought on by COVID-19 the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation (BEOF) wants them to know that support is available to help them pay their energy bills.
The programs, according to Samantha Howard, the organization’s executive director, include the Low Income Heating and Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), the Universal Service Fund (USF), the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEA), and Payment Assistance for Gas and Electric (PAGE) with funding coming from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
“As we emerge from the Coronavirus crisis and our economy reopens, the need for this service is going to be tremendous,” Howard said.
Information about these programs, including eligibility, is available by clicking here. Applications can also be found online or picked up at the front door of the BEOF office located at 555 Kennedy Blvd. The BEOF can also be reached by phone at 201-437-7222
Once received applications will be processed immediately, Howard said.
