With the winter months ahead, Greer CPW is encouraging its customers to prepare for possible higher than normal utility bills due to an increase in market prices.
As part of preparing for colder months, the utility provider has compiled a list of energy-saving tips, including:
- Check for leaks around windows, doors and other openings to the outside
- Seal any air leaks with caulk or weather-strip
- Install a programmable thermostat
- Wrap water heaters with proper insulating jackets and set the temperature to 120 F or lower
In addition, Greer CPW is encouraging its customers to take advantage of programs to assist with price increases:
- Equal Payment Plan – customers pay a fixed amount on their utility bill for an 11-month-period. Call 864-848-5500 more information.
- Utility Assistance Program – those who qualify may receive assistance paying their utility bill through Greer Relief. Call 864-848-5355 for more information
Additional assistance may be available through the GLEAMS and S.H.A.R.E. programs. Spartanburg County customers interested in learning more about GLEAMS should call 864-707-5029, while more information about S.H.A.R.E.’s program may be obtained by calling 864-269-0700.
