MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio

Suspicion: Parker Drive

A woman said Jan. 29 that a teen boy was asking residents to do his laundry and stating that he had been kicked out of his home. Officers did not locate the boy, but received another report later in the day from a resident who said the boy also asked to use her bathroom because he “needed to poop.”

Criminal damage: Mayfield Road

A man reported Jan. 30 that someone had broken into his vehicle by breaking out a rear window. It had been parked in a covered car port at the Gates Mills Place apartments. Nothing was believed to have been stolen and no suspects were named.

Violation of protection order: Mayfield Road

A woman said Jan. 30 that her husband, whom she has a protection order against, entered Nitro’s Bar and attempted to speak with her. The man, 44, left the bar when she went into the bathroom to call police.

The incident was confirmed through surveillance video and the man later turned himself in on violation of the protection order.

Burglary: Chatham Way

A man reported Feb. 1 that he returned to his apartment at Hamilton House to discover that someone had broken in while he was away. Responding officers found the apartment in disarray as if someone were looking for something specific.

The man’s wife reported two designer purses and two pairs of designer shoes missing. There were no witnesses.

Failure to comply: Mayfield Road

A vehicle failed to stop for officers when being pulled over for having no visible license plate Feb. 1. The driver finally stopped in front of the BMV in Golden Gate Plaza.

The Warrensville Heights man, 50, said he got scared, so decided to drive to his destination in hopes that everything would be OK.

He was charged with failure to comply and other traffic violations.

Disturbance: Mayfield Ridge Road

Officers responded to a residence Feb. 2 after receiving a 911 hang-up call. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a woman at the home had held a knife to a man during an argument over money for dog food.

Video of the incident shows her striking the man. She was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct.

Disturbance: Mayfield Road

A woman was said to be causing a disturbance at the pharmacy in Giant Eagle Jan. 28. She was gone before officers arrived. The staff said she usually causes a disturbance when she is in the store.

A man reported around 5 a.m. Jan. 29 that nobody was responding to the drive-thru at Dunkin Donuts, but he could hear employees inside yelling expletives.

Employees told officers that a man in the drive-thru was giving them trouble, but had already left the area.

Fraud: Mayfield Road

The staff at Lang’s Marathon confiscated a counterfeit $100 bill Jan. 29 from an unknown male customer. Giant Eagle management also reported a counterfeit $100 bill being passed at the store that day.

General assistance: SOM Center Road

A man was said to be speaking inappropriately to female employees at Micro Center Jan. 31. Officers contacted the customer by phone, and he said he would be more discreet.

Theft: Mayfield Road

Two unknown women were believed to have stolen 10 to 15 hair care and body products from CVS Feb. 1.

Disturbance: Golden Gate Boulevard

During a dispute over gift cards at Best Buy Feb. 1, a customer said a manager placed his hands on his chest and asked him to leave the store. The customer decided he did not want officers to investigate and said he would contact the store’s corporate office.
