Struggling to make rent in Asheville, Buncombe due to COVID? Here are some options. - Citizen Times

ASHEVILLE - Despite a slew of moratoriums and halts to eviction and foreclosure processes, many in Buncombe County are still struggling to make ends meet as the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the local economy.

Unemployed workers and families with children should soon see more government assistance from a $1 billion coronavirus aid package Gov. Roy Cooper signed into law Sept. 4. But it’s unclear how soon the money will reach everyone, as the state agencies tasked with issuing the money are still setting up the systems to make that happen.
