Dickson Council vote: Extends $400,000 in COVID assistance - Tennessean

The Dickson Council unanimously voted to extend the effective date of its March emergency allocation of $400,000 to provide assistance in the COVID-19 pandemic to Dec. 31.

The council approved the change at its Aug. 3 monthly meeting.

Mayor Don Weiss Jr. said the Dickson County Help Center has requested the city to fund three Second Harvest food distributions at $2,500 each.

The council will hold a special session following Monday’s Finance and Management Committee meeting to vote on an Emergency Ordinance approving the allocation of the remaining funds.

Nobody else spoke at the public hearing. The ordinance faces a second and final vote Sept. 1.
