To mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on local businesses and employees, the City of Myrtle Creek has committed up to $50,000 in one-time funds to create a Small Business Grant Assistance Program.
City Administrator Sean Negherbon said the objective of the program is to offer immediate financial assistance to small businesses to aid in maintaining their businesses and workforce. Awards will be made on a first come, first served basis.
Negherbon said the City plans on allocating financial resources as quickly as applications can be received and reviewed. Grant amounts are to be used to help businesses inside the city limits with:
*Rent or mortgage payments
*Utility payments
Priority will be to those businesses most greatly impacted by the pandemic.
To quality for assistance, a business must:
*Complete the online application and include a copy of their W9
*Be located inside the City limits of Myrtle Creek
*Have no more than 15 non-owner employees as of March 1st
*Have a City of Myrtle Creek business license
*Have no outstanding City related liens, fees or code-enforcement cases
*Be directly affected by the government-ordered mandatory change in service
*Franchise businesses are not eligible
A qualifying business will receive a minimum of $1,500 with a maximum grant award of $2,500.
