Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will rejoin the team Monday, coach Dominique Ducharme said Friday. Price has been in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program since Oct. 7.
In Price’s absence, Jake Allen has started 10 of the Canadiens’ 12 games. He has a 3-7-0 record with a 2.92 goals-against average and .904 save percentage. Sam Montembeault has backed up Allen.
Price started 25 regular-season games last season and all 22 of the Canadiens’ playoff games during their run to the Stanley Cup Final. The 34-year-old goalie boasts a 2.50 goals-against average for his career.
