MCS Community Services is assisting income-eligible households in Morgan, Cass and Scott counties with paying natural gas, propane and electricity bills.
The one-time benefit helps homeowners and renters with energy bills or reconnection of services.
Applications are being accepted through March 31 or until all assistance is allocated through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Households must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level based on the number of people in the household to be eligible. Monthly income guidelines start at $2,147 for one person.
Appointments can be made for in-person assistance at MCS Community Services offices in Jacksonville, Beardstown or and Winchester by calling 217-243-9404 or 888-288-4413.
