The Small Business Association of Alabama is looking to help residents in Bibb and other counties affected by tornado damage over the past few months.
To facilitate their assistance, the SBA is opening a Disaster Loan Outreach Center at the Fultondale Public Library.
The center aims at helping businesses, homeowners and renders affected by recent disasters in Bibb, Blount, Saint Clair, Jefferson, Shelby, Tuscaloosa and Walker counties.
SBA Public Relations Specialist Lilliana Tschanett said the eligibility requirements are lenient.
“They have to be in business prior to the disaster at least six months, their business needs to be located in the disaster area and they need to show proof that their loss was due to this tornado,” she said.
Homeowners and renters must provide proof of ownership and documentation of damage. Customer representatives will be available at the center to answer questions about the disaster loan program and help individuals complete their applications.
The disaster relief center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
