With a little less than a month of classes left, school can feel more challenging than usual. Find help using these free resources to set yourself up for success.

Academic Success and Achievement Program

The Academic Success and Achievement Program (ASAP) offers free peer-tutoring support to students living on campus and first-year commuting students. ASAP provides tutoring on a weekly basis throughout the semester. 

All tutoring sessions will be hosted on Zoom. You can sign up for sessions by downloading the Penji app.

Student Academic Success Center

The Student Academic Success Center (SASC) is a multicultural academic learning community, serving low-income and first-generation college students. SASC offers:

  • Academic skills development
  • Math and writing courses
  • Supplementary instruction
  • Graduate research opportunities

Peer-to-peer academic tutors through the Learning Mentors Program is available to students participating in SASC learning communities. 

The Writing Center

Do you sometimes suffer from writer’s block? Do you know how to cite your sources? No matter your academic field or writing level, the Writing Center can help you:

  • Discover effective writing techniques.
  • Eliminate writer’s block and procrastination.
  • Strengthen revision and self-editing skills.
  • Learn proper citation to avoid unintentional plagiarism.

Use the Writing Center at any point in your writing process, from figuring out how to start through your final draft. You can also opt for a Zoom session with a writing consultant to receive verbal or written feedback on your work.

University Libraries

University Libraries at CU Boulder offer a massive collection of academic resources, with remote access to many collections. University Libraries remote services include:

Stay up to date on University Libraries services, as well as their official open hours for the fall semester.

Mathematics Academic Resource Center

The Mathematics Academic Resource Center (MARC) is a free service provided by the Department of Mathematics. MARC tutors are able to assist in all lower-division mathematics courses, as well as many upper-division courses.

Review the fall semester tutoring schedule. To access a tutor, log in to Zoom with your IdentiKey. Once you select an available tutor, you will be taken to their Zoom meeting waiting room and they should be with you shortly. If you are not taken to a waiting room, try a different tutor.

No matter what you are studying or the college you are in, you can find additional tutoring services that can help you. Visit the CU Boulder tutoring resources website to learn about other options. Be aware that some services are specific to certain classes or departments or groups of students.

Office hours

Faculty members make time during the week to be available for students outside of the classroom. Office hours allow you to meet one-on-one with your professor to ask questions or express concerns. Review your syllabus to find information about your professor’s office hours or check with your instructors about virtual meeting options.
