In Albany, 17-year-old Maria Lutz of Inlet (Hamilton County), a recipient of a wish from Make-A-Wish Northeast, is giving up a wish for herself in order to help epilepsy patients afford life-changing medication. The teenager’s wish starts a dedicated $10,000 fund to be administered by the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York. The Maria’s Epilepsy Medication Emergency Fund will help raise awareness and money for people who are struggling to afford seizure medication, helping families in the 22 counties the foundation serves.
