SAN JOSE – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of stalking a woman in San Jose.

The suspect started stalking the victim at the Mission Grove Apartments on the 200 block of North Capitol Avenue on Oct. 4, the San Jose Police Department said in a news release.

Police said the suspect has appeared at the victim’s door eight times. She has never met him but he knows her name.

On Dec. 3, the victim’s neighbors chased the suspect to his car, described as a black newer model Honda Civic, police said. He returned about 11:10 p.m. on Dec. 28 but left before officers arrived.

“The suspect is still unidentified and is becoming bolder in his attempts to contact the victim,” police said.

The suspect is described as a 30- to 40-year-old white man with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan flat cap, black face covering, black leather jacket, light-blue jeans and black shoes. Images of the suspect were released Wednesday.
