Snow removal assistance available for Duluth residents - Duluth News Tribune

For the second year, the city of Duluth will pair volunteers with those in need of assistance removing snow.

To be eligible, recipients must live in Duluth, be over the age of 60, have a disability or not have the financial resources to pay for a service. The program is limited to 25 people and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

The city is also seeking volunteers to be paired with those in need. Snow removal must take place within 24 hours after a snowfall of 2 or more inches.

“Last year’s program was a great success,” Human Rights Officer Carl Crawford said in a statement. “The burden that this lifts off of residents who needed this service was incredible to see. We hope that the program has that same positive impact again this year.”
