The deadline to apply for Disaster Unemployment Assistance has been extended to November 27th.
A release from the Federal Emergency Management Agency said employees in Douglas and seven other counties may be eligible if their work was substantially impacted by the wildfires and straight-line winds that have taken place since September 7th. Online applications are available at: https://www.oregon.gov/employ/unemployment/pages/disaster-assistance.aspx?utm_source=employ&utm_medium=egov_redirect&utm_campaign=https% or by calling 503-570-5000.
Around Oregon, FEMA has received disaster assistance applications from nearly 23,700 individuals. FEMA has awarded $23.6 million to eligible survivors affected by the wildfires.
