Assistance League Thrift Shop to reopen June 13 - Encinitas Advocate

The Assistance League Rancho San Dieguito (ALRSD) Thrift Shop at 1542 Encinitas Blvd. will reopen June 13, at 10:30 a.m. with a “Welcome Back Sale,” offering all items at 50% off.

“Our shop has been cleaned and sanitized and is packed full of merchandise that’s new to the shop,” according to Thrift Shop Manager Wendy Morris.

“Our updated safety and sanitation protocols are designed to meet and exceed the guidelines from the CDC, state and local authorities,” continues Morris. “Our commitment to an even higher standard of cleanliness and protocols within our operations requires us to sanitize counters, cash register and credit card machine after each customer interaction.”

The new temporary shop hours will be Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Increasing the hours and days will depend on any future impact of COVID-19.

All customers must wear a mask and sanitize their hands as they enter and leave the shop. Hand sanitizer will be provided at the door.

Each customer and working member will keep the required social distance of 6 feet from any other person. Any clothing that is tried on will be left on the shop’s quarantine rack for 3 days afterwards.

All local and state guidelines will be followed and are posted at the shop.

ALRSD raises funds through the Thrift Shop in Encinitas, fundraising events, individual and corporate donations, and community and government grants. Funds are returned to the community through philanthropic programs that serve children and adults. Membership is open to everyone.
