Christmas came early for Boulder’s Emergency Family Assistance Association.
During a national Zoom panel discussion Thursday, The Moozie Foundation announced that each charity on the call would receive a $15,000 grant, according to a news release from The Moozie Foundation.
The Moozie Foundation is a charitable arm of the Rosewood Corporation and the Caroline Rose Hunt family. Eight other food pantries across the nation also received the grant, in an effort to help communities where Caroline Rose Hunt’s grandchildren live, the release said.
Ashley Rumble, director of development and communications for EFAA, said the nonprofit was “tremendously grateful to the Moozie Foundation and their family members.”
“This gift will help prevent hunger and homelessness of Boulder families financially impacted by the pandemic,” Rumble said in the release. “We can’t think of a more important gift this holiday season!”
EFAA has operated since 1918, providing stability resources and programs to families in need.
Lynn Fisher, director of Rosewood Corporate Giving, said the foundation wanted to do something special to help nonprofits this holiday season.
“The early Christmas surprise will allow the food pantries to continue to offer hot meals to those in need during this season of giving,” Fisher said.
